TAL Risk Academy celebrates 10 years of financial adviser support
Media Release -Today marks a decade of TAL Risk Academy helping make the advice sector stronger. Since 2015, the life insurer's education platform has supported the careers of financial advisers, Professional Year candidates and practice staff, by providing quality continuing professional development.
The milestone coincides with the release of the 2025 course program.
TAL Risk Academy has had over 118,000 enrolments across hundreds of courses, awarded 185,483 CPD points, and achieved an average adviser satisfaction score of 4.6 out of 5.
Beau Riley, General Manager, Retail Sales & New Business reflected on the past ten years, saying, “This is a celebration of all the financial advisers and educators who have made TAL Risk Academy the success it is today. We’re proud of the support it provides advisers through every career stage, and we look forward to continuing to strengthen the advice profession for the next decade and beyond.”
“At TAL Risk Academy, we’ve always been focused on equipping advisers with the knowledge and skills they need to keep pace with industry and regulatory changes – along with Australians’ evolving advice needs. Our program is built around adviser feedback, ensuring our course offerings reflect what advisers have told us they need most to provide their clients with relevant, valuable advice.”
The 2025 TAL Risk Academy program includes five streams – Foundations, Professional Year, Advice, Business Management, and Working with TAL.
The courses have been designed collaboratively with external experts and thought leaders to support every career stage, from new entrant to business owner, and client service manager. New in 2025, a training series created for client support staff and paraplanners focused on making daily tasks easier, from streamlining admin to strengthening retention conversations.
This year’s program will also be the first hosted on a new learning platform that makes it easier to find course content, track CPD points and complete courses on the go with mobile access.
Grace Oneil, Partner & Provisional Adviser at Lowe Financial Group, said, “TAL Risk Academy has expanded my knowledge with amazing resources, technical education and webinars. It also connects me with a community of advisers and experts for support and experience sharing.”
Sam Perera, Director, Perera Crowther Financial Services, said, “TAL Risk Academy is unmatched in its impact on the profession. Over 10 years, it has made a significant contribution."
Mr Riley continued, “We are grateful for the support of the advice community over the past 10 years. Fees from TAL Risk Academy’s masterclasses go directly to the Australian Business Community Network (ABCN), supporting young, high-potential students who have faced significant barriers to accessing quality education. To date, we’ve donated an incredible $860,000.”
“With a decade of expertise behind us, TAL Risk Academy continues to innovate to empower advisers to feel ready for tomorrow.”
