Launch of PY (Professional Year) Manager adds to TAL’s commitment to growing a healthy financial advice industry

2022 -

Leading Australian life insurance specialist, TAL today announced the launch of PY Manager – a platform designed to help ease the burden for licensees, advisers, and new entrants, by keeping track of all the things making up the Professional Year.

Developed by TAL’s Risk Academy team, in collaboration with a number of licensees, the new PY Manager platform allows users to review and manage their Professional Year requirements, details, and achievements.

Through the digital hub, candidates can easily track their work hours and progress of activity, plan, and log requirements, and create learning plans with industry-aligned courses; supervisors can quickly access a full overview of hours and activity and sort those by type or regulation area, as well as utilise the quick sign off function; while licensees are provided with a full picture of their candidates and supervisors, with easy-to-use requirements tracking.

Jason Bamford, TAL National Sales Development Manager, said that for many advisers, the convenience and ease of access that comes with a digital experience can lessen the burden of the Professional Year requirements.

“The Professional Year can be daunting for many, and TAL is continually looking for opportunities to help streamline this process, and support candidates, supervisors, and licensees throughout this important year.

“By providing a simple way to keep track of all the Professional Year requirements, courses and progress in one place through a digital hub, PY Manager can further support the professional development of advisers.

“The launch of PY Manager complements our investment into supporting existing advisers and also helping more advisers join the industry.”

The TAL Risk Academy provides a program of courses to support the structured training requirements of the Professional Year and builds on existing training plans. There are four courses focused on strategy, soft-skills and ethical dilemmas to help advisers navigate their Professional Year, or to mentor a Professional Year candidate. The TAL Risk Academy has provided support to over 7,000 advisers in preparation for the financial adviser exam.

To attend a demonstration of the PY Manager system, licensees and advisers can contact the team at pymanager@tal.com.au.

To enrol in the TAL Risk Academy, advisers can contact their local TAL Sales representative or visit the TAL Adviser Centre.
